  • Nature of Education

When we analyze the long history of the human race, we find the insight of humans is short and that of language and script shorter. During this time, to fulfil wishes and desires, humans created a mass of education. They accomplished this through language and script. Education, thus produced, has two aspects. Firstly, it makes life easier and more peaceful. The other side is that it can create instability dissatisfaction, disrupt peace and lead to rebellion. There is the danger of its destruction also. This is the unknown fear.

Humans only have the special character and traits to create diverse education. When we try to define education, the modern concept prevails more. The view of Sir Edward Brunel Tyler (1832-1917) is worth mentioning in this context. Education, for him, is a kind of monotony: its purpose is to help humans to have their livelihood through toil. They do it depending on their intellect, respect, faith, belief, conviction, reverence, art and craft, behaviour, law, tradition, and the culture of the country and the nation.

After him, in the duration 1871 to 1951, 184 scholars have had their say regarding education. The number has increased rapidly by now. Education has been categorized as:

A. Definition of education
B. Social Education
C. Family clan education
D. Historical Education

Though Scholars have categorized education as per their convenience, there is no common of its kind to be accepted by all.

Similarly, I do have my personal view in regard to education. Education, for me, is the creation of humans to fulfil their wishes. Education has its utility purpose. Further, it has a knowledge motto as well. Basically, humankind created education, whatever its kind, to directly conduct their livelihood. For this, humans assimilated and created long and variegated experiences in the form of education. It implies that it is not self-evolved and provided by the creator (God) or constructed by him.
Fulfilling wishes and desires has various meanings inherent in the heart of the people: mysterious expertise in religion, attaining Enlightenment, medicine, which benefits the world, and weapon and war-related education, which hampers human society negatively. Creation has to be understood as wishes of common people, understood by the person with good insight and give the form of text to the desires of these common people perfectly. Otherwise, it would be difficult to understand and write the wishes of people well.
